The "Paramount" name, which is written in its majestic script font and appears in fl, pops in while 22 white stars appear around the border, starting in the middle and going downward.
Logo: Same appearance as the 2nd logo except the main rectangle border is red, the Paramount mountain is blue, the stars around the mountain are blue, the outside border of the Paramount logo is white.
Paramount (Viacom) is starting to update this logo with their newest, even syndie reruns of Cheers (once known as the best source of the logo), have been replace with the current.

W6XAO, Channel 1, was part of the era when television had gone beyond its diaper stage, but not by much.
Channel 5’s website says: “KTLA’s genesis actually dates back to 1939 when Paramount Pictures started KTLA as experimental station W6XYZ under the guidance of television pioneer Klaus Landsberg.” It’s true that a construction permit was issued in 1939, which is different from a station actually starting operations.
And W6XAH in Bakersfield, a mechanical television station operated by Pioneer Mercantile Co., was on the air from 1931-35, beaming a signal northward.

Farnsworth Television hired him as television development engineer in Philadelphia in 1938, shortly after he arrived in the United States.
Paramount was a major DuMont stockholder at that time and Landsberg was sent to Hollywood to organize W6XYZ for Paramount Pictures in 1941.

A basic subscriber cable channel like Redstone's dream replacement for SciFi would be a better bet, but even then the care and feeding of a new -- and likely expensive -- SF weekly series may be unworkable.
As for the original SciFi Channel that Redstone lost two years ago, USA Chairman and CEO Barry Diller has vowed to throw his corporate resources behind the current reigning SF champion, saying late last year that he would be "pouring money into production" and bringing plenty of original programming to the channel.
