THESPROTIA (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-14) |
 | | In the Tsardakia area, south of the modern town of Paramythia, the existence of the polygonal wall and the box-shaped tomb of the Later Copper age are some of the frew samples of the Mycenean civilization in Thesprotia. |
 | | Paramythia is the center of the region (Loutra, "Koulia"), with the other smaller settlements not being inferior, as is evident from the extant, mostly ecclesiastic, buildings: Monastery of Prodromos, Monastery of Ag.Dimitrios of Kamini, settlement of Osdina or Ouzdina in the region of Pente ekklisies with well preserved paintings in the Post-Byzantine churches. |
 | | The Egnatia highway brings Paramythia much closer to the development poles of Epirus, Igoumenitsa and Ioannina and thus the "space key" for the economic development of the region is set: The Junction of Neochori, the Craft Park, the Trade Center, are the infrastructures which support the economy of tomorrow. |
