David Finkelstein   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-04)
A group of physicists at CERN were pushing for the construction of a new accelerator, and it was claimed that one of the reasons for building this device was that it would decide the future of "parastatistics".
Furthermore, e had shown that the existence or non-existence of parastatistics was equivalent to one final belt operation -- he would pull, simultaneously,on both ends of his belt.
The existence of parastatistics was equivalent to a knot resulting in his poor belt.

Algebraic structure of the Green's ansatz and its q-deformed analogue (ResearchIndex)
The algebraic structure of the Green's ansatz is analyzed in such a way that its generalization to the case of q\Gammadeformed para-Bose and para-Fermi operators is becoming evident.
To this end the underlying Lie (super)algebraic properties of the parastatistics are essentially used.
Already in his first paper on parastatistics [1] Green developed a technique, the Green's ansatz technique [2], appropriate for constructing new (reducible) representations for any set of para-Bose (pB) or...

H.S. Green, Obituary   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-04)
After a year at the Princeton and Dublin Institutes of Advanced Study, he came to Adelaide, and with H. Messel wrote extensively on cosmic ray shower theory.
In his first decade in Adelaide he also discovered parastatistics, with the ansatz which bears his name, and was one of the first to point out the role of the environment in the mechanism of wave packet collapse.
His contributions to physics covered a very wide range, and included important work in statistical mechanics and kinetic theory, quantum mechanics and field theory, gravitation and general relativity as well as in related fields such as Lie algebras and group representations.

He joined University of Cincinnati in 1981 and is the author of about hundred journal articles.
Since 1973 he and Farhad Ardalan have collaborated on different projects among which the early work on parastatistics which turned out to be the precursor of color.
He has been a research collaborator with scientists at IPM from its inception and has visited and lectured at IPM repeatedly.

 Dr. Nelson
With several graduate students (see below), we have developed spin-correlation tests which are being used to probe for differences between the tau and the other leptons.
Paraparticles are particles which obey parastatistics which generalize the ordinary Fermi-Dirac and Bose-Einstein statistics (obeyed respectively by electrons and photons).
Paraparticles are allowed in local relativistic quantum field theory but have not yet been experimentally discovered.

Among unconventional types of statistics that I have investigated are parastatistics and quon statistics, PARTICLES WITH SMALL VIOLATIONS OF FERMI OR BOSE STATISTICS, Phys.
With A. Mishra I have explicitly shown how to quantize parastatistics using path integrals, PATH INTEGRALS FOR PARASTATISTICS, with A. Mishra, pp1-14, math-ph/0406011, submitted to Phys.
Another project is to construct a model in which quon statistics, which interpolates between bosons and fermions, is coupled with Regge poles which interpolate between different spins to provide a model in which, for example, spin 0 bosons are smoothly connected to spin 1/2 fermions.

(The possibility that Pv> and v> are not the same state goes under the name of parastatistics.
Research into this possibility was pioneered by Prof.

But in three spatial dimensions we saw that these two processes were topologically equivalent.
Indeed we see that in three spatial dimensions the phase can only be plus or minus one when we swap these particles (there is also the possibility of parastatistics where one uses an internal degree of freedom and obtains higher dimensional representations of the symmetric group.
The clockwise and the counterclockwise swap are different in two spatial dimensions, so there is no requirement that
