The Paravas have a distinctive style of singing the Koti-Chennaya paddana, called naDapu, which I am told is used during an agel (a ceremony commemorating the death of the heroes).
As a Parava kola tradition, it is a part of the worship of Koti and Chennaya at the garadi, although the connection between the events of the paddana and the worship of the twin heroes is somewhat unclear to most villagers.
Although the Paravas rarely -- if ever -- actually sing the paddana in the ritual context they apparently feel that it is necessary to maintain at least some of the material of the initial portion as an integral part of the song in their tradition as a sort of "reference text".
