The Secretary of State has considered the set of conditions which have been agreed between the parties, and which the Inspector concludes at IR 18.519 are necessary and relevant for the development proposed, subject to a number of amendments which the Inspector sets out in paragraphs IR 17.1-17.9.

The troopships Vienna, Empire Parkeston and Empire Wansbeck were familiar to most who served at RAF Eindhoven.
She initially started life as a cruise ship before being requisitioned by the Royal Navy in 1940 for use as a troopship.
The Empire Parkeston was formerly the Prince Henry of the Canadian National Railway, and the Empire Wansbeck was previously the German minelayer, Linz.

This excursion contained a party of businessmen who along with others caused the Harwich branch to be built and could accurately be referred to as the Fathers of Parkeston Quay.
It was this congestion that fed the Great Eastern Railway's desire to own and operate their own Quay, and resulted in the building of Parkeston Quay.
The quay in the background is the facility that Ferries used to disembark their passengers and freight from The Hook of Holland, Scandinavia, Denmark and Germany.

The Former Royal Naval Bunker under Hamilton House adjacent to the Entrance to the Port of Harwich at Parkeston Quay
The RNXS was formed in 1964 (See this web site) and the bunker was refurbished and re-opened as the emergency port control for Parkeston, Harwich, Felixstowe, Ipswich Docks and the River Orwell.
There are three entrances into the bunker, the main entrance is from the basement of Hamilton House with a secondary main entrance in the car park consisting of a three room surface guardhouse and a stairway down to the bunker; there is a small ventilation shaft close to this entrance.

In the early`80's through working of Locomotives to Perth on freight and passenger trains did not occur, Kalgoorlie was the interchange point for the then ANR and Westrail.
GM7+GM4 with an eastbound Indian Pacific at Parkeston on 18 January 1981.
In the late 1980's Australian National had a locomotive shortage and a number of Westrail L class units were hired for the run across the desert.

 HMS SHAMROCK
At Parkeston on Sunday afternoon the body of Commander Bahr, an attaché at the Swedish Legation, was taken on board a British destroyer, the Shamrock, which conveyed it to Sweden for interment.
The body was bought from London to Parkeston by motor hearse.
At the Quay British naval petty officers from Shotley Barracks marched up and acted as bearers, carrying the coffin, which was covered by the Swedish national flag, to the destroyer moored alongside the Quay.
