 The Bermuda Progressive Labour Party
Bermuda was electrified to learn that this bold new Party had won Parliamentary seats for six of the nine candidates it had endorsed.
Bermuda’s first Constitution restructured the voting districts into dual seat constituencies and increased the number of seats in Parliament to forty to offset the gains of four seats in Pembroke Parish.
Thus the United Bermuda Party was formed with the sanction of then Governor, Lord Martonmere; who dismissed a formal application from the PLP to dissolve Parliament and hold fresh elections.

 United Bermuda Party - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The UBP had 30 seats in Parliament as result of the election of 1968.
In 1968 the UBP easily won the first general election under Bermuda's new constitution, taking 30 out of 40 seats in Parliament and Sir Henry Tucker was appointed the leader of the new government.
Sir John Swan was the Premier of Bermuda from 1982-1995 and the leader of the UBP.

 38th Ottawa Overseas Battalion
On February 8th, 1916, the 38th was inspected by His Excellency, the Governor-General of Bermuda, who forwarded official reports to the British War Office, as well as to Militia headquarters at Ottawa, declaring the Unit fit in every respect to take its place in the field along side the finest Regiments in the British Army.
The fighting continued until the night of the 13th, when the 38th was relieved after having played a prominent part in the advance of 22,000 yards made by the Canadian Corps, resulting in the capture of 167 guns, 1,000 machine guns and 10,000 prisoners.
The 163rd Regiment reached Bermuda on May 29th, 1916, to relieve the 38th and the latter Battalion sailed for Davenport, England on May 31st.
