Love Me Do Lyrics - The Beatles
Their next audition was later in the year for Parlophone Records, and after several takes of a cover song called "Besame Mucho," they played this, which got them their first record deal.
When they played this for Parlophone Records, the producer they auditioned for was George Martin, who became a key figure in Beatles history as he helped shape their sound.
When they recorded this on Sept. 4, Ringo was their drummer, but when George Martin decided this would be the single, he had them record it again a week later.

 Beatles UK singles, Identification Guide
While the American Beatles singles on Capitol Records were all released originally with the same label style, this was not true for their singles from England.
I might note that all later records which feature the "Ringo" version of the song were dubbed from a single, for the original tapes of that take (and associated mix) were destroyed.
Records with the rim print in ALL CAPITALS are more common than records with the rim print in Large and Small letters.

Parlophone - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Under EMI, Parlophone released mainly spoken-word and novelty/comedy label material, such as the comedy recordings of The Goons.
That changed in 1962, when Parlophone's young AandR manager George Martin signed a rising new Liverpool pop band, The Beatles, who soon turned Parlophone into one of the world's most famous and sought-after record labels.
The glamour of The Beatles association led to many other pop/rock artists signing to the label, including Queen (band), The Easybeats, The Church, Radiohead, Coldplay, Kylie Minogue, Pet Shop Boys, Blur (and, subsequently, Gorillaz), Jesus Jones and Dubstar.

Parlophone released records in every category from classical to "race" (i.e., R&B), but the label's top artists during the early '50s were Scottish dance music star Jimmy Shand, Roberto Inglez, a Scotsman (real name Bob Ingles) who specialized in Latin music, conductor Karl Haas, and the London Baroque Ensemble.
Martin joined the record industry just as it was going through a vast technological transition, from 78s to LPs and 45s -- a process that EMI, owing to a certain ossified quality in its management, was slow to join -- and to magnetic tape as a means of recording.
Most importantly, by working with the group, and not simply working on their recordings, as was the custom of many producers, Martin educated them and started an evolutionary process in their thinking and writing that they never would have found working the Cavern Club or any of the other stages they were playing.

About The Beatles: Discography: Christmas EPs
Over 70,000 records were pressed, as the band had gotten much more popular since 1963.
Recorded during the 'White Album' sessions, the 1968 Christmas disc was not recorded with the band together at Abbey Road.
This record was also recorded separately by each Beatle in their own homes and compiled and arranged later.

 Parlophone Label
When the Beatles began recording for Parlophone, the company's label was in the middle of a design change.
The Parlophone logo ("£" in the circle) was originally printed in a cream or light tan color.
The "A" indicates the A-side of the record and is printed on both sides of a double A-side disc.

But with over a billion copies sold of records and songs whose making he supervised (and they are still selling, with billions of pounds and dollars spent on them), he has earned a knighthood and been the subject of a 151-song, six-CD set devoted to his work as a music director.
The Parlophone label in those days was part of the EMI organization, but it was a poor relation to such labels as Columbia (the British imprint, no relation to the American company of that name) and HMV Records.
AIR could have been a record label as well -- the collective experience of its four founders was more than most record companies have started with -- but for the fact that it was under-capitalized.

OKEH RECORDS: The Origins of Okeh (1918-1920)
Domestic's first records were 7-inch fine-groove vertical cut discs produced by the Domino Record Company, a short-lived venture unrelated to the 1920s label of the same name.
Patent records show that he assigned rights to several phonograph cabinet designs to the company in 1916, and he also worked closely with inventor Thomas Kramer, an associate from the American Record Company days.
Foregoing the stodginess that then characterized the American recording establishment at the time, Okeh soon began to scour the nation for performers and material that was often far removed from the mainstream.

It had all begun with a debut gig to a handful of mates in a Deptford pub in March 2002 - the same month that their bouncing debut single ‘Westside’ was released in the UK.
At that stage, they hadn’t even finished writing Vehicles And Animals, let alone recording it, but the Deptford show set them on a path to success that would culminate almost 200 gigs later in January 2004 with a triumphant sell out date a few miles up the road at Brixton Academy in London.
Recorded in Sussex and London and mixed in New York, the result is Tourist, an album that, happily, more than matches the band’s ambitions.

The moptops apparently despised what Capitol was doing to their records, which was the whole point of the notoriously collectable "Butcher" cover for the US release Yesterday.
The early Parlophone records were monaural, but Capitol released them as artificially enhanced "stereo" -- primarily increased reverb and the use of slight differences between the channels to make the mix seem "bigger."
I never heard any of the Parlophone releases until the late 1970s, so for me at least, the Capitol mixes were simply how the Beatles were supposed to sound.

 Signed Albums
The most common signed Beatles LP covers are those on the British "Parlophone Records" label, namely Please, Please Me and With The Beatles.
American "Capitol Records" versions of Beatles albums are among the hardest to find as they signed very little while touring the States in 1964, 1965 and 1966 - especially when compared to 1963, their most prolific signing year.
This is an excellent copy of The Beatles first LP on Parlophone Records, entitled "Please, Please Me", which has been signed on the reverse by all four members very nicely in varying shades of blue ballpoint.

Throughout Europe the recording engineers pursued this policy, and amongst the genres recorded was the folk music of the country in which they were operating.
Suddenly records were being issued that would have little or no appeal outside Scotland and even in Scotland would have perhaps been regarded with some suspicion by the more genteel record buyer.
He arranged for Beltona to record twelve sides of dance music by the Sutherland Orchestra (consisting of London studio musicians) to be recorded on behalf of the Society, the records would be for sale in the normal way.

While George Harrison’s death on November 29, 2001 reminded me that I’d never formally written about this album, it also reminded me that is one of the discs I most often go to when I need a fix of his post-Beatle greatness.
The songs on this album were being stored up by George during the last several years of recording with his former band.
George’s creative cup was running over by that time and when the Beatles finally called in quits in 1970, he was primed to record these cuts on his own.
