Parral is a town in the (A native of inhabitant of Mexico) Mexican state of (Old breed of tiny short-coated dog with protruding eyes from Mexico held to antedate Aztec civilization) Chihuahua.
Founded in 1631 by Juan Rangel de Biesma, it was once a bustling center for (A soft white precious univalent metallic element having the highest electrical and thermal conductivity of any metal; occurs in argentite and in free form; used in coins and jewelry and tableware and photography) silver mining.
After the end of the silver mining boom, Parral was almost completely abandoned in the early 1930s (although the surrounding district continues to be mined for silver and base metals).
