The Epping to Chatswood line (originally to be the Parramatta Rail Link) is a railway line under construction in the Northern suburbs of Sydney, Australia.
This required the elimination of the planned station at the University of Technology, Sydney, Kuring-gai Campus; the required increased depth of the tunnel to go under the river made a station at that point impractical, due to the required depth of the escalator shafts.
The railway line was originally intended to continue from Epping to Parramatta, partially travelling along the existing Carlingford railway line, Sydney surface line which would be widened from single-track to dual-track.

If use of the line as a link to the airport has been disappointing, this can be attributed to the opening of the eastern distributor around the same time as the railway.

The Parramatta Rail Link (PRL) is an enormous undertaking: 28 kilometres of railway - most of it underground - linking Parramatta and Chatswood via Epping; the construction of four new stations; and the upgrading of seven existing stations including a new $100m transport interchange at Parramatta.
Barraclough said the environmental and community impacts of the PRL, including noise, vibration, water and air quality, will be minimal both during construction of the link and after it begins operation.

According to the recently released Parramatta rail link environmental impact statement, the proposed new Chatswood-Parramatta line is to be extended to Westmead.
By far the best solution would be to continue the tunnelling that will be involved for most of the Chatswood-Parramatta rail link, and then take both the new and existing railway, plus the road, underneath Parramatta Park.
