The proposals affecting the Party Wall can not be resisted ultimately, although if you are an adjoining owner, by dissenting from the Notice, appointing a surveyor and the preparation of a Party Wall Award, you will go a long way to protecting your interests.
A Party Wall Award is then prepared which sets out the scope of the works affecting the party structure, conditions for protecting the adjoining owner's interests, and includes the Schedule of Condition.
The basis of the Party Wall Award is to set out the conditions for the running of the building works, insofar as they relate to the Party Wall so that they do not unnecessarily interfere with your occupation of your building, although some noise and general disturbance is unavoidable.

Party Wall Advice - Gully Howard
Although minor works on a party wall are usually considered to be too trivial to come under the remit of the Act, the key point to be considered is whether any planned work will have consequences for the structural strength and support functions of the party wall.
If necessary an award can be drawn up to clearly set out the work to be undertaken, how and when the work will be carried out, record the condition of adjoining structures and inspect the works whilst they are being undertaken.
If you are any doubt that works you propose may require specific action as a result of the Party Walls etc Act, or alternatively you are concerned with regard to adjoining works being undertaken we would be pleased to advise further.

Party Wall allows "neighbors" to dynamically modulate the thermal, acoustic and spatial qualities of a simple screen made with 2" thick bands of foam.
The motors exert tension on synchromesh pulley cables attached to the foam layers, causing variable compression and expansion, and resulting in varying apertures and densities of foam.
Beyond raising issues of property and ownership in the gallery context, future iterations of Party Wall could respond to light, heat or sound, and correspondingly modulate optical, thermal or acoustic attributes of a wall.
