		A pasar malam is a market in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia that opens in the evening, usually in housing areas.
		Pasar malams often open only one to a few days of the week, as the traders rotate around different housing areas on different days of the week.
		Pasar malan and night market are not the same, Pasar malam mostly open on Saturday from 6pm to 11pm, around the housing areas, whereas night market opens every night.

		I have only been to the one in Bali, which was great! I think that things like pasar malam are a common event in most of southeast Asia.
		This is a very odd question as pasars or pasar malams are very normal in Indonesia for centuries and those Indo-people you are talking about, were what we call Indische mensen: Indo keturunan (Hindia) Belanda who went to the Netherlands for some reasons (since the fifties)I don't want to mention here.
		Pasar Malam is a way of life in both Indonesia and Malaysia.
