Jet Airways passenger opinions about Jet Airways service and standards
FA was not quite as friendly as on other Jet flights I've been on (didn't address passengers by name, and didn't really smile), but she wasn't rude.
Passengers were virtually all Indian and service was aimed solely at Indian tastes movies etc also. While I like Indian food, the flight attendant couldn't understand why one needed to know more than "veg" or "non veg" to decide on which meal to choose.
I feel it is a sign of absolute incompetence that an airline has to urge its passengers to take a clapped out, forty year old taxi through the slums built around the airport perimeter in order to for them to make their connecting flight, when the inter-terminal bus takes less than 10 minutes.

A severe crosswind could have given the jet problems as it touched down, but the winds were within the limits that jets must withstand in certification tests.

Air Transportation: The Opening of the Commercial Jet Era
Airline executives in the postwar era were aware that, although jet engines were simpler than the old piston engines, they also had high operating temperatures that required very expensive metal alloy components that ultimately would affect an aircraft's longevity and reliability.
As a result, U.S. passenger air carriers did not support the building of jet airliners in the immediate postwar years, and adopted a “wait-and-see” approach before embarking on this risky path.
Juan Trippe, the airlines' legendary chief executive officer, had early on expressed a keen interest in operating a passenger jet service capable of flying nonstop across the North Atlantic.

Further adding to the confusion, the passenger flight had taken off from Bandar Abbas airport, which served both civilian and military craft and happened to be the center of Iran's F-14 operations.

Still, Sukhoi’s regional jet project and the country’s aerospace industry in general has interested major Western companies that are hoping to use their relationship with the company to gain a toehold into the large Russian aviation market.
