Passive-aggressive personality disorder is a personality disorder wherein a person tends to display a pattern of negative attitudes and passive resistance in interpersonal or occupational situations.
Sometimes a method of dealing with stress or frustration, it results in the person attacking other people in subtle, indirect, and seemingly passive ways.
It was listed as an Axis II personality disorder in the DSM-IIIR, but was moved in the DSM-IV to Appendix B ("Criteria Sets and Axes Provided for Further Study") because of controversy.

Ettercap is the most advanced of the passive fingerprinting tools I've seen to date, and some users will find it invaluable for identifying devices on their networks.
Passive fingerprinting can help you identify mysterious devices on your local network, and may prove useful for other LAN administrative tasks.
Unlike active fingerprinting, there's little ethical difficulty with passive fingerprinting, because the software is merely looking closely at the traffic that passes by on the network.

True to the definition of aggressive anger, passive aggression involves preserving personal worth, needs, and convictions at someone else's expense, but it differs in that it is accomplished in a more quiet manner, causing less personal vulnerability.
Passive aggression is usually caused by a need to have control with the least amount of accountability.

No, passive aggressive is someone who takes out their anger at you in apparently passive ways.
I did read "Living with the Passive Aggressive Man" by Scott Wetzler and found this to be very informative and somehow reassuring that this whole mess is not my fault (as my husband has so readily led me to believe over the years).

 Passive-Aggressive? Behind the Curtain at S&P 500
The fact that the performance of the SandP 500 over time matches that of the Russell 1000 and Wilshire 5000, which are truly mechanically passive indexes (though flawed in their own way), is only reflective of the fact that its 500 securities comprise more than 75% of the capitalization of the U.S. market.
But "gut feel" isn't the methodology that most investors believe is at the root of purportedly passive index decisions at Standard and Poor's.
The lesson is that while index-based funds such as the Vanguard 500 were successful in a bull market, they beat peers not because of some ideal of passivity but because they were inexpensive, highly liquid pure plays on a popular concept enjoying its extended 15 minutes of fame.

 Preschool Behavior Project
The student will now begin to exhibit more passive-aggressive behaviors until the teacher "lays down the law," which, although it is what ultimately ends the cycle, is what reinforces the student's belief that he or she is the victim and that adults unfairly take their anger out on students.
Furthermore, passive-aggressive students may feel that it is not okay for them to express feelings of frustration and anger, which leads them to vent these feelings by manipulating and controlling other's emotions (something which they may very well have learned from someone else).
At this point, the teacher is probably angry, confused, and wants to re-establish that "the teacher is in control and will be listened to and obeyed at all costs." Through his or her "passive" acts, the student has succeeded in getting the teacher to aggress.

Passive Aggressive Personality, Passive Aggressive Behavior
When we handle things passively, aggressively, or passive/aggressively we really aren't acting in a manner that is worthy of respect.
When we handle conflict aggressively, the conflict might get “resolved” for the moment, but the way it got resolved (at the expense of another’s feelings and rights) often leads to further rebellion and conflict down the road.

Bestselling author and syndicated columnist Michael Fumento reports: "Passive Aggressive in Ohio."
I noted that the other "authoritative" study linking passive smoke to lung cancer, commissioned by the World Health Organization, actually showed a statistically significant reduced risk for children of smokers and no increase for spouses and co-workers of smokers.
Yet we've long known that "passive smoking" is not a scientific term but a propaganda one.
Such independent bodies as the Oak Ridge National Laboratory have found that in facilities where smoking tables are segregated (virtually all that even allow smoking), passive smoke "concentrations in the nonsmoking section of the restaurant in question were not statistically different from those measured in similar facilities where smoking is prohibited."
