Stanley Mitsuo Saiki was born on July 10, 1917 to Kumaichi and Haruyo Saiki on Kapaa, Kauai.
While Dr. Saiki was highly respected by his colleagues and patients, he was perhaps better known as Pat Saiki's husband.
Saiki had five children: Stanley, Jr., a physician in Honolulu; Sandra Williams, a physician in Oregon; Margaret, a veterinarian in California; Stuart, computer engineer in Virginia and Laura who was managing a restaurant before working on her mother's gubernatorial campaign.

Saiki argued that Cayetano exceeded the spending limit, required for purposes of public funding.
