Patafisica = a science of exceptions, of imaginary solutions
Two notions were behind Pataphysics: that of equivalences and the clinamen or slight decline of atoms falling.
In 1893, Jarry attributes to Pere Ubu the invention of Pataphysics, 'a science that we have invented and which is generally felt to be needed'.
Pataphysics is the science of imaginary solutions that symbolically attributes to the feature the properties of the objects described according to their virtuality'.

  Pataphysics
Pataphysics, a term coined by the French writer Alfred Jarry, is a philosophy dedicated to studying what lies beyond the realm of metaphysics.
Raymond Queneau has described 'pataphysics as resting "on the truth of contradictions and exceptions." It is a parody of the theory and methods of modern science and is often expressed in nonsensical language.
Perhaps the most famous mention of 'pataphysics remains The Beatles' 1969 song "Maxwell's Silver Hammer." Actual works within the 'pataphysical tradition tend to focus on the processes of their creation, and elements of chance or arbitrary choices are frequently key in those processes.

Pataphysics is the highest temptation of the spirit.
And, moreover, all Pataphysical procedures are a vicious circle where, maddening forms, without believing in each other, devour each other like crabs at the edge of a cliff, digesting themselves like stucco buddhas and renders nothing in all its cris-crossing but the fecal sound of a pumice rock and dried ennui.
This is because Pataphysics has reached such a perfection of the game and because it accords little importance to everything that it finally has little of.

 U B U W E B :: Asger Jorn -- "Pataphysics: A Religion in the Making"
This is the conflict that is about to be overcome by pataphysical religion, which has placed one of most fundamental concepts of modern science at the level of the absolute: the idea that equivalents are constant.
Thus, pataphysical religion could very well be the unconscious victim of its own superiority over every common metaphysical religion, as there is certainly no possible reconciliation between superiority and equivalence.
But it should be said that the acceptance of a pataphysical authority, such as the one currently being instituted, becomes a demagogic new weapon against the spirit of pataphysics.

Pataphysics exists everywhere, it frees the essence of things and it goes, as far as every special case allows it, in the most different directions beyond metaphysical knowledge.
Pataphysics is based upon the exceptions which alone determine and further science.
Pataphysics as science turns to the special case, it interprets the world as a mosaic of hazards and exceptions which combine according to the pataphysics's statements of size.

Pataphysics, an absurdist concept coined by the French writer Alfred Jarry, is the idea of a philosophy or science dedicated to studyingwhat lies beyond the realm of metaphysics.
In the 1960s pataphysics was used as a conceptual principle within various art forms, especially pop art and popularculture.
Pataphysics is sometimes defined as "the science of imaginary solutions, which symbolically attributes the properties ofobjects, described by their virtuality, to their lineaments" (from AlfredJarry 's Book Faustroll). It is found in the ancient writings of Chinese philosopher Dzu-tse (Jootsius), Ibicrate the Geometer and Sophrotatos the Armenian.

For Jarry, Pataphysics is the anti-scientific realm beyond metaphysics that examines the laws which preside over exceptions – an attempt to elucidate an imaginary cosmos.
Jarry specifically defined Pataphysics as the “science of imaginary solutions, which symbolically attributes the properties of objects, described by their virtuality, to their lineaments”.
It was through writing Ubu Roi that Jarry became the creator of the science of Pataphysics, his absurd a-logic which defined the science of imaginary solutions as enshrined since 1948 in the Collège de Pataphysique.

My theory is that 'pataphysics is the epistemology of Flying Spaghetti Monster and can demonstrate that the FSM theory is strictly scientific.
If pataphysics is defined as " the science of imaginary solutions which symbolically attributes the properties of objects, described by their virtuality to their lineaments ".
'pataphysics is also the science that we invented because we needed so much - and I think that somewhere in Kansas School Board someone needed 'so much' FSM.

Pataphysics - A Religion In The Making
The great merit of pataphysics is to have confirmed that there is no metaphysical justification for forcing everybody to believe in the same absurdity, possibilities for the absurd and in art are legion.
Now that Pataphysics finds itself placed in an objective cultural situation, the inevitable consequence of the preceding definition is a split in the body of Pataphysical believers; between pure antisituationists and those who - holding to the pataphysical premise of equivalents - still favour the development of organised absurdities.
It is in the latter resolution to this problem that Pataphysics becomes the religion best adapted to life in the society of the spectacle: a religion of passivity and pure absence.
