The more sophisticated harrumphed that the quantum mechanical view had destroyed any notion of objectivity as a property of the world it describes, replacing it with an interconnectedness that could only be interpreted as flowing from a transcendental universal consciousness.
But this, as has been explained repeatedly in both the technical and popular literature, is patent nonsense, involving misinterpretations of quantum physics on several levels.
My own favorite personal antidote to stories of transcendental quantum consciousness is to take out my old physical chemistry class notes from 30 years ago and look up the postulates from which quantum mechanics is derived.
