The committee would consist of vice-chancellors of Patna University (Patna), BR Ambedkar Bihar University (Muzaffarpur) and Veer Kunwar Singh University (Ara) and experts can be enlisted if necessary.
The Patliputra University would be carved out of Magadh University (Bodh Gaya) and would affiliate all colleges of that university falling in the Patna and Nalanda districts.

 Patna university teachers observe strike
Patna university teachers observed a token strike on Tuesday  to protest assault of former minister and teacher of the university Sanjay Paswan by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad activists.
Paswan, who is also Rashtriya Janata Dal national spokesperson, was attacked by the ABVP activists in the university campus on Monday in which his vehicle was damaged.
The teachers observed the strike after the Patna University Teachers Association gave a call  for a token strike and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits by the police.

Tulsi had to get the judiciary's help to appear for the university examinations, and it took the intervention of a Delhi court before he was allowed to take his high school examination last year when school authorities were uncompromising.
A Patna court's intervention also was needed before he could compete a three-part graduation examination after university authorities allowed him access to only one part of the test.
