Patrice Motsepe, winner of South Africa’s Best Entrepreneur 2002 award, and finalist for the Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur award, was honoured at the event with the other 26 finalists who were selected from a pool of 9,000 nominations.
Motsepe, the founder of ARMGold, South Africa’s fifth largest gold mining company, was, along with the other finalists, tonight inducted into the Entrepreneur Academy that was created to celebrate accomplishments of the world's great entrepreneurs and to make the general public more aware of the benefits they provide to the world economy and global communities.
Motsepe, who switched from law to mining when he identified a gap in the gold mining industry, strongly believes in his country and in the future of the African continent.
