Patrick Mackay (born September 25, 1952) is a serial killer who confessed to murdering eleven people in England in the early 1970s.
On March 21, 1975, then aged twenty-two, Mackay used an axe to brutally kill a priest who had befriended him, hacking through the victim's skull and watching him slowly bleed to death.
Patrick Mackay was charged with five murders, but two charges were eventually dropped due to lack of evidence.

Patrick J. Mackay had been contracted by Arnold Clark Automobiles to perform yearly roof maintenance and it was revealed that this work involved sweeping a workshop roof which was constructed from corrugated asbestos cement sheeting sporting Perspex skylights.
Mackay, trading as Intruder Building Services, a small subcontracting roofing firm from Liverpool, pleaded guilty to breaches of both section 2(1) and section 3(1) of the HSWA for which he received fines of £2000 and £1000 respectively, at Liverpool Crown Court on 14 January 2005.
Mackay had failed to foresee the risks involved in the work to be performed and had not consequently provided adequate precautions for the situation.

Mackay had suffered with the rest of his family at the hands of his drunken and violent father, and was to carry this legacy into his own adult life.
When arrested Mackay was charged with 5 murders, although once in court only three of the murders were pursued, he was also questioned about a further 7 murders.
At the old Bailey in November 1975 23 year old Patrick Mackay confessed to three murders and was sentenced to life imprisonment.

Patrick Connors lost his life in the disaster.

In his will he mentioned he had a brother John MacKay still in Scotland and a brother James living in GA he died in 1786 in GA. He would have been 116 according the ages of his siblings supplied by L.D.S. computer bank.
Patrick MacKay emigrated to GA in 1734 married in 1740 to Isabella, widow of Montague, he died 1777 GA. Far more likely born c1715.

Mulherin was particularly well known for his work in advocating a deep-water port for Mackay and the development of hinterland coal and agricultural resources.
Mulherin was elected mayor of Mackay on a Labour ticket about 1933 but later when the council was dissolved, he contested the mayoralty as an independent and was defeated.
