Patrick Marleau (born September 15, 1979, in Aneroid, Saskatchewan) is a professional ice hockey centre who currently plays for the San Jose Sharks of the NHL.
Although he struggled early, Marleau learned to combine his excellent offensive talents with defensive prowess from former Sharks head coach Darryl Sutter.
Marleau has played all six of his NHL seasons for San Jose Sharks, having been drafted by the Sharks in 2nd overall in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft, only behind future Sharks' teammate Joe Thornton.

Marleau turned 16-years-old just a few weeks before the opening of the 1995-96 WHL season, barely meeting the eligibility requirements and becoming one of the youngest players in the league.
