Patrik Štefan (September 16, 1980 in Příbram, Czech Republic) is a professional ice hockey player who currently plays for the National Hockey League's Atlanta Thrashers.
Patrik has played five seasons for the Atlanta Thrashers, and has 153 career points.
During the 04-05 NHL lockout Patrik played for Ilves Tampere in the SM-liiga.

When Stefan was centering Heatley and Kovalchuk briefly, it was common to hear the line referred to as “the kid line.” It is difficult to really call Stefan a kid, though, since he is extremely mature for his age.

Stefan, projected to be a top pick in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, has started the season looking as such with two goals and five assists in seven games through 21 Oct. Augusta, the veteran of seven professional seasons, has three goals and four assists in seven games.

HF Comments: Patrik has played very well as an 18 year old in a mans league scoring seven goals and eighteen points in fourteen games with the Long Beach Ice Dogs of the IHL.
Radek Bonk tore the IHL apart as an 18 year old in the early 90's and was taken by the Senators 3rd overall before falling on hard times because of his skating ability.
If Stefan is able to bring his skating along and improve, he will be a great NHL player, however, if his abilities have peeked, he will be no more than an NHL checker.

Thrashers general manager Don Waddell told the Journal-Contitution that Stefan was not experiencing any headaches and that his CT scans were normal, which makes the prospect of a concussion or post-concussion syndrome less worrisome.
Stefan will not be allowed to do any exercise for three or four days.  If he remains symptom-free after resuming a light exercise routine, Stefan would then be allowed to resume skating.
