For New Englanders, Patriots' Day remains the quintessential observance: the anniversary of the beginning of the American Revolutionary War with skirmishes between British troops and the Minute Men of Concord and Lexington, Massachusetts, and preceded by Paul Revere's famous Midnight Ride.
Originally celebrated on April 19, Patriots' Day was moved to the third Monday of April in 1969.

Though obviously a patriot is merely someone who loves their country, the sort of patriotism that comes to mind when I hear Bush deploy it brings to mind a very narrowly defined, right-wing version (ie, a patriot is also Republican, Christian, hawkish, etc).
Patriot’s day is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of.
I know people who lost family members that day, and I'd bet my bottom dollar that the idea of a holiday being set aside to commemorate their death, called "Patriot's Day" no less, would not be welcomed.
