		Simon had gone to England after the initial failure of Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M., and there had pursued a solo career, releasing the album The Paul Simon Song Book in the United Kingdom in 1965, but he returned to the USA to reunite with Garfunkel after "The Sound of Silence" began to enjoy commercial success.
		Paul Simon's musical career began in high school in Queens, New York City, when he and his friend Art Garfunkel began singing together as a duo, occasionally performing at school dances.
		He wrote the song "Motorcycle," which was recorded by Tico and the Triumphs and reached #99 on the Billboard charts in 1962.

		Published in 1967 this has an interesting mix of Paul Simon songs, including a new one "Someday, One Day" which was written in 1966 but not recorded by Paul but by the original Seekers.
		The songs are just chords and melody notes however the arrangements are by Paul himself.
		I haven't got this one but would really like it as it has 3 unrecorded (by Paul Simon at least) songs.

		Fewer still are probably aware that 1997 marks the centennial of Paul Dresser's composition of that song, "On the Banks of the Wabash, Far Away." In the century that has passed since Dresser wrote it, both the song and the composer have fallen from the ranks of celebrity to relative obscurity.
		Changing his last name to Dresser, he composed a Paul Dresser Songster for Hamlin, singing some of his compositions as part of a male quartet that toured with the medicine wagon.
		The result in Dresser's finest songs is a wedding of words and music in which nothing seems contrived, where the tune has a naturalness to it, the words telling a mesmerizing story in serial fashion, and the whole suggesting a contradictory combination of simplicity and elegance.
