Paul Brady (born May 19, 1947 in Strabane, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland) is an Irish singer/songwriter whose work straddles folk and pop.
Brady began performing as a hotel piano player in Donegal at the age of sixteen and graduated to being guitarist, during the 1960s, in two rhythm and blues bands: Rockhouse and the Cult.
In 1976, Brady recorded an album with Andy Irvine that he now regards as his best.

Plaintiff, Veronica Brady, as administrator of the estate of Paul B. Brady, deceased, appeals after the entry of a jury verdict in favor of defendant Thomas McNamara, M.D. This medical malpractice action was brought to recover damages for a fractured hip which delayed treatment of the true illness of Paul B. Brady.
Plaintiff alleged that defendant wrongly concluded that Brady was suffering from cirrhosis of the liver (instead of cancer metastasized to the brain) and failed to administer the proper treatment.
Brady's wife, Catherine, testified that Brady was not disoriented and that he always was alert and coherent.

The first release was a CD ‘The Missing Liberty Tapes’ featuring a live recording of a Paul Brady concert in Dublin in 1978, the tapes of which were lost for 23 years.
In 2004 Paul recorded in Nashville, the result of which was the 2005 released album ’Say What You Feel‘ an organic and fresh sounding record, mostly cut live and in one or two takes at most per song, this record has further enhanced his reputation as a songwriter and performing artist of the highest calibre.
Paul Brady continues to push out the boundaries not only of his own talent but of Irish contemporary music in the new millenium.

Paul Brady is best known these days as a contemporary rock singer/ songwriter but back in 1978 he was best known as an interpreter of traditional Irish songs and tunes and that year issued his first (and last) solo album of all traditional material "Welcome Here Kind Stranger".
On July 21st, 1978 the record was launched with a concert at Liberty Hall in Dublin and this wonderful album is a recording of that concert featuring Paul recreating the album live with the addition of a couple of songs he had recorded previously on a duet album with Andy Irvine.
Joining Paul were several of the musicians who were on the album along with other distinguished musicians.

I was introduced to Paul Brady on the Aerlingus Airline's audio entertainment system on the Dublin-Los Angeles flight home on 30 April 2004 after two wonderful weeks of vacation in Ireland.
