His friend Paul Deussen says that his feelings toward women were acutually quite the opposite and this is backed up by comments made by women who were Nietzsche’s friends.6 He held women in high regard, and loved women that he considered his intellectual equal or could be educated to reach that point.
Deussen reports that Nietzshe said a woman should be totally absorbed in the service and care of her husband and that he could probably wear out three wives himself.7

Hölderlin, who was not well-known or revered at the time, was one of Nietzsche's favorite poets (Byron was another); he had written on essay on him, revealing even in his youth a certain iconoclasm; his professor found this essay disconcerting, and encouraged the young Nietzsche to develop interest in less fevered and saner writers.
Paul Deussen, who later became a renown scholar of Sanskrit and with whom it is probable Nietzsche frequently discussed Buddhism, was one of Nietzsche's few close friends during this period.
Deussen was also the son of a pastor, and as Nietzsche, expected to follow in the footsteps of his father; however, though they were confirmed together in March of 1861, they had more of an enthusiasm for ancient Greece and poets such as Anacreon.

During this time, in the circle of the Wagners, Nietzsche met Malwida von Meysenbug and Hans von Bülow, and also began a friendship with Paul Rée, who after 1876 influenced him in dismissing the pessimism in his early writings.
However, his disappointment with the Bayreuth Festival of 1876, where the banality of the shows and the baseness of the public repelled him, caused him in the end to distance himself from Wagner.
He frames certain elements of the religion — the Gospels, Paul, the martyrs, priests and the crusades — as creations of ressentiment for the upholding of the unhealthy at the cost of stronger sentiments.

Paul Deussen, Professor of Sanskrit at the University of Kiel, Germany, was a leading scholar and translator and a philosopher in his own right.
This book original Title "Sechzig Upanischad's des Veda", is of questionable value in English as it is a translation (from German to English) by V.M. Bedekar and G.B. Palsule of Paul Deussen's 1897 translation (from Sanskrit to German).
I have made spot comparisons of this book to both Deussen's translation and to the Sanskrit Texts, and this just doesn't work out well, because it is twice removed from the Sanskrit text and the translators are not good enough as translators.
