Comment: I am a Paul Hardcastle fan, but as a music critic Hardcastle 4 is a good smooth jazz Cd but falls short of Hardcastle 3 and Way short of Hardcastle 1 & 2 (In which I feel are Masterpieces).
Comment: I thought Hardcastle 3 was better...You have a few very nice songs, but the music is predictable and is a repeat of Hardcastle 3, which to me was a better CD...I had a let down on this CD...I expected more...Go back to the studio and give us more of the true Paul Hardcastle...

 St. Hall's URL-launchpad: Paul Hardcastle
Well, in my opinion he's created his own unique blend of funky, danceable and rhythmic music while still keeping it interesting and fresh, which is something of a difference in the world of dance music these days where predictability, unimaginitivity, repetitiveness and boredom are adjectives best used to describe it.
Another addition to the Hardcastle sound is the use of synthesizer- lead sounds (often of the "sync" type), where guitar-like solos were played with a lot of expression, cutting through the mix.
As the years have gone by, Paul's music has progressed, following the times in his own way (as opposed to being dictated by record companies or whatever is in style at the moment).
