Although Paul Robeson will mainly be remembered as an actor and singer, he will stand first and foremost in my mind as a man who stood up for himself, and the fights of every oppressed person.
Paul was asked to sing a new song on a radio show called "The Pursuit of Happiness." On November 5th Paul sang Earl Robinson's "The Ballad for Americans" and it instantly became a smash success.
Paul bravely stood up to the committee and denied being a communist, but still there were those who wouldn't rent a concert hall to Paul.

Paul slept a dreamless sleep, lulled by the steady pour of the rain on the roof, and when he awoke in the morning the sun was shining brightly, without a cloud in the sky.
Paul was looking at the fire, which seemed to him the most glorious one ever built, and he did not notice anything more until he was lying beside it, stretched on a blanket, and eating the very piece of tender buffalo meat that Shif'less Sol had coveted for himself.
Paul rose up, inspired with a feeling of sympathy, and perhaps of comradeship, and then, to his utter amazement, he saw that the youth was Braxton Wyatt, one of the boys who had come over the mountains with the group that had settled Wareville.

Henry (Paul Stout) is a playwright living in London with his actress wife Charlotte (Betty Burns).
Henry has been conducting an affair with Max's wife, Annie (Samantha Perry), an actress best remembered for her portrayal of a nurse on some children's television show.
She has a really good scene where Charlotte finally realizes that there is profound truth in Henry's oft stated observance, "It doesn't matter." As Max, Annie's soon-to-be ex-husband, Rob Wilson also performs well--one feels sympathetic during his character's breakdown after he learns the truth.
