Jones is believed to have missed the subsequent battles of the Revolution after Bexar because he was away in the United States to raise funds and enlist men for the struggle against the centralist government of Mexico.
Jones (mother of four brothers, William E., Augustus H., Russell and Isham G. Jones), wept over the scene as she gazed upon the noble animal in his agonizing pain, and strong men wept at what they supposed to be the death scene of Old Pike.

Frances Jones Johnson was born January 25, 1917, in Hamburg and died Saturday, December 4, 1999, at her home in Monticello at the age of 82 years.

Drew of Terre Haute, IN; and five grandchildren, John Drew Meredith, David Paul Meredith, Jeffery Meredith, Andrew Meredith and Richard Hilgeman.

She is survived by four daughters, Mollie Jo Holaway of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Mary Caldwell of Alpine, Betty Armbrester of Sylacauga and Doris Acker of Childersburg; one son, Lowell Fannin of Alpine; one sister, Ella Fuller of Munford; 25 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jones of Sylacauga; one son, Glenn Kalton Jones of Opelika; and one sister, Martha Paul Jones Bice of Phenix City.

Jones, a civil engineer, came to the Arizona Territory in 1909 to help in the building of the Southern Pacific Railroad, having learned his trade on construction projects in Mexico and the Panama Canal.
Fannin was if anything, even more conservative than Goldwater, but fell a bit short on name recognition, breadth of accomplishments and, some might say, principle.
Paul J. Fannin is interred with his wife in the Serenity Mausoleum at Greenwood Memory Lawn.

His name was John E. Franklin (he sometimes went by the nickname 'Red'), from Pryor, OK. His discharge papers state that he was a in A Company, 264th Infantry Regiment, 66th Div.
He was inducted on 21Apr44 at Ft. Sill and discharged on 16Dec45 at Fannin, TX.
I'd like to know if he was on the Leopoldville or if he was one of the lucky ones redirected to the Cheshire.
