McCartney famously insisted that his wife should be involved with his music — and later tour in his bands so they did not have to be apart while he travelled — in spite of her protests that she was not talented enough.
McCartney performed during the pre-game ceremonies at the NFL's Super Bowl XXXVI on 3 February 2002 and was the halftime performer at Super Bowl XXXIX on 6 February 2005.

Paul had chosen not to issue any singles from his first LP, and this single--coming a good ten months later--would not be found on his second.
Paul had been tapped for a prestigious honor: writing and performing a theme song to one of the James Bond films--this one being "Live and Let Die." Paul proved that his style of writing could fit right in with Agent 007--the single was a smash.
Paul directly attacked their criticism that he wrote a bunch of "silly love songs." The song was so commercial that it hit #1 during the Wings tour, meaning that it was being played everywhere, a slap in the face to Paul's detractors.

Paul shows that he hasn't lost his melodic sense when it comes to the ditty "Every Night", which makes good use of his vocal range, alternating between a deeper folk-styled vocal on the verses and 'believe me momma' part, and sweeter (more sentimental) vocals during the other parts.
Paul's tunes (along with one from two of the other band-members) are certainly given a good edge with the production job too, which has a much wider atmosphere than before and also a rockin', sometimes live-feel in parts.
Paul was in the midst of working on the Beatles 'Anthology' project with Ringo and George, when he decided to record a new album that would look back on the spirit of the Beatles.

It's a truism that without a vociferous writing partner, Paul McCartney's sense of quality control could be rather lax, but it's easy to overlook how many fine tracks he and Wings produced from 1970 to 1983, the period covered on Wingspan.
For non-fans of the Paul McCartney (if there are any) solo years this album would no doubt be a suitable and satisfactory place to start - covering everything from McCartney in 1970 to Give My Regards To Broad Street in 1984.
Personally, Paul is my favourite Beatle, so it was no surprise to discover that Wingspan, although more 'pop-like,' can match up to many of the Beatles' songs.
