Molitor also attracted national media attention during his 39-game hitting streak, which ended with "Molly" in the on-deck circle when the winning, game-ending run was scored against the Cleveland Indians on August 26, 1987.
Molitor was acquired through free agency by the Toronto Blue Jays in December 1992 and was a key part of the Blue Jays second World Championship.
Paul Molitor is a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Paul Leo Molitor was born on August 22, 1956, in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Molitor would sign with the Brewers and later that summer begin his professional baseball career playing for the Class A Burlington (IA) Bees of the Midwest League, where he batted.346 and was named the league's all-star shortstop and Most Valuable Player, leading his team to the championship.
Molitor seized the opportunity, playing extremely well for the remainder of spring training, and when the season opened he was Milwaukee's opening day shortstop and leadoff hitter after only 64 minor league games.
