Paul- I saw you at Nordstrom on May 10, I was in awe just by being in your presence that I forgot to tell you- THANK YOU for all the years of greatness you have brought to all your Yankees fans.
Paul, you looked up at Casey and said, 'it would be a lot easier to just buy a ball in the souvenir shop.' That moment and the baseball he caught, last Sunday afternoon meeting you, along with watching your entire time as a Yankee, was such a pleasure and a privlege for both of us.
Paul brought to each game will always be inspiring for me. The 1998 NY Yankees are arguably the greatest baseball team to date and Paul O'neil was there...

The Business Report: 29 November  2003  - Aristocrat's New CEO
Paul O'Neill: I think that there are similarities between the film industry and the gaming industry in that both are dealing with the public; both are trying to anticipate public trends over the next three to five years.
Paul O'Neill: I wouldn't say that I had to think twice — I certainly did a significant amount of my own due diligence to make sure that the company was in a sound financial state, and that I was aware of the financial issues that got the company to where it is today.
Paul O'Neill: I will ensure that I'm aware of all aspects of the company at all levels of the company, and the internal lines of communication will be very, very strong, flowing in to me so that I in turn can keep the market fully informed at all stages.

Paul O'Neill -   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-10)
O'Neill was chairman and CEO of the Pittsburgh industrial giant Alcoa from 1987 to 1999, and retired as chairman at the end of 2000.
O'Neill was a somewhat outspoken member of the administration, often saying things to the press that went against the administration's party line, and doing unusual things like taking a tour of Africa with singer Bono.
O'Neill was criticised for his claims that Bush had wanted an invasion of Iraq so early in his term, but the current Downing Street Memo - if proven accurate - supports the position of O'Neill and Richard A. Clarke, both former members and now critics of Bush's administration, that indeed such planning was taking place.

O'Neill said he was currently working on a project to bring drinking water to the thousands of villages in Africa that do not have access to clean water and that he believes Bono will join him in the effort.

But recent statements by Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill would make all rational people stop in their tracks.
However much fair-minded people condemn the way Bush's tax cuts are heavily skewed in favor of upper-income individuals, that skewing would probably be small potatoes compared to how a Bush administration proposal to shift the tax burden entirely onto individuals would be structured.
Paul O'Neill has apparently spoken about the need to "educate" the public about the current system and how it needs to be changed.

Apparently Bush leads cabinet meetings like a CEO and spends a great deal of time listening to all points of view and then takes what is good and throws out what is bad and makes his decisions.
One of the accusations leveled at the president is that when Oneill talked to him it was like a monologue while the President listened or was "disengaged".
