Paul Pressler - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Paul Pressler is the CEO of Gap, Inc. Previously he served as president of the Disney Store side of The Walt Disney Company, president of Disneyland (before the theme park became part of the new Disneyland Resort) and then president of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, before leaving Disney in 2003.
Pressler's success at The Disney Store lead company CEO Michael Eisner to appoint Pressler as president of the company's flagship theme park, Disneyland, and lead the team developing the theme park into a two-park, three-hotel resort.
Pressler was very business-minded and put more emphasis on shops and dining than on the maintenance of the attractions, even to the point where he believed that eating and shopping was the only reason people came to Disneyland.

That Paul Pressler is brilliant is unquestionable: an appealate judge, a CNP past-president, and the leader/strategist of the only successful conservative resurgence in the history of the Protestant church, everyone will allow that much.
Pressler, like many Fundamentalists, fail to accept that much of our understanding of scripture and theological concepts are interpretations and very few of the arguments that he is willing to die for would effect salvific truth.
Paul Pressler and Paige Patterson are the Annas and Caiphas of the twentieth century...they know scripture backwards and forwards, but they completely miss the message of love and grace and forgiveness preached by Jesus Himself.

Pressler: Adrian appointed a absolutely superb Committee on Committees and a absolutely superb Resolutions Committee and the other appointments he made were very good, but those were the two crucial committees.
Pressler is very comfortable walking in Reconstructionist circles, but it would be more accurate to say that Pressler and Reconstructionists have been walking in the same circle -- Dominionism -- and that the circle has been heavily influenced by both of them.

 AL'S ARCHIVE - D-I-G Update
Of course, the irony of hosting this "Farewell Pressler" event in a mothballed food court located in a deserted corner of the company's most struggling theme park was probably lost on many of those in attendance.
Never mind that Paul Pressler was actually at the party himself, along with his wife and two children, party guests were invited to stand next to the cardboard Paul and have a "farewell photo" taken of themselves by two photographers with Polaroid cameras.
And several different party guests surmised that this was the beginning of a campaign by Cynthia to ensure her contacts with Paul remain intact, just in case an opportunity for her comes up at The Gap in the near future.

Pressler was either told beforehand or found out after the presentation about Eisner's succession list, and as you can guess by what has already happened, he was not on it.

Pressler ticks off evidence of his appetite for fact-gathering: Focus groups are attended by designers for the first time in Gap's history, Pressler said.

 SBC Changes
In the late 1970s two men, Paige Patterson and Paul Pressler, devised a plan to takeover the Southern Baptist Convention and change its direction.
Patterson and Pressler studied the SBC’s constitution and bylaws and discovered that the convention was ultimately controlled by the appointment powers of the president.
Adrian Rogers (the first SBC president elected by the Patterson— Pressler coalition) said, “If we say pickles have souls, they (seminary professors) better teach that pickles have souls.” Seminary teachers who refused to comply were fired, sought employment elsewhere, or took early retirement.
