 Presentation of the Paul Reuter Fund
The Paul Reuter Fund was set up in 1983 through a donation made to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) by the late Paul Reuter, Professor Emeritus at the University of Paris and member of the Institut de droit international.
A Paul Reuter Prize, rewarding a work in the sphere of international humanitarian law, shall be awarded every three years, in accordance with the rules of this Prize, with certain exceptions at the discretion of the Fund Committee.
Decisions on the allocations from the income of the Fund and, when appropriate, the name of the Paul Reuter Prize laureate, shall be made public by the President of the ICRC on 12 February each year, in commemoration of the founder's birthday.
