Ashley Tait screamed up the ice to restore Blaze’s lead, before Joe Miller showed the Blaze fans why their coach Paul Thompson signed him on a two-way contract to share with Tigers by scoring Telford’s second goal — having already assisted on the opener.
Russ Cowley broke the deadlock with a powerplay goal early in the third for Blaze, but Jared Owen marked his place in Telford ice hockey history soon after by scoring the first ever goal for the ‘new’ Tigers.
Coventry had always looked capable of shifting up a gear and with the score at 2-2 and less than 10 minutes remaining they set about securing the win.

ON FIRE! Coventry Blaze ice hockey team - It's Miller time as Joe joins Shea in Coventry
Thomsonfly Coventry Blaze head coach Paul Thompson said: "Joe originally came through the Cardiff system and I spotted him at Telford when I was keeping an eye on Tom Carlon and Adam Brittle.
"I think Joe has continued to improve as a player at Telford, and he got good numbers last year, especially for an English player in a side with just one import forward - his coach Claude Dumas.
As back-up to Jody Lehman last year, 20-year-old Shea played over 400 minutes, averaging just under four goals a game conceded, including back-to-back thrillers in Belfast at the end of the league campaign.

Indeed with this victory, Coventry have now mustered 12 victories in their last 12 games, and it is therefore not surprising that head coach Paul Thompson is brimming with confidence, commenting that the Blaze are in ‘a strong position’.
Coventry were rampant for the next five minutes as they tore Britain’s best ice hockey team to pieces.
However, Coventry showed all the spirit and resilience that is expected of a team that have not lost since November when just two minutes later Andreas Moborg netted from close range to bring the tie back to 1-1.

 'D2 The Mighty Ducks'
"The Mighty Ducks," a 1992 hit, was a relatively inoffensive drama about a group of young losers in Minneapolis-St. Paul who find new pride in a peewee ice hockey team led by Coach Gordon Bombay (Emilio Estevez), a lawyer fallen from grace and a peewee manque himself.
The already diverse Ducks add new players Luis (Mike Vitar), a Miami Cuban; drawlin' Texas boy Dwayne (Ty O'Neal); Maine girl-goalie Julie (Colombe Jacobsen); Korean American figure skater Ken Wu (Justin Wong); heavy-metal bad boy Portman (Aaron Lohr); and south-central L.A. street kid Russ (Kenan Thompson).
Bombay (conveniently injured in the minor leagues and forced back into coaching) reunites with his Ducks to represent Team U.S.A. in an international tournament in Los Angeles.
