Glen Truswell and Paul Davies in Storm Cloud (3543)took an early lead from Richard Whitworth and Ellie Bremmer in Filthy / Gorgeous (3670), Julian Parry and Holly Scott in Zeno (3659) and the Phantom Menace (3611) of Roger Tayler and Sally Townend.
In second place were Glen Truswell and Jim Paul Davies of Salcombe YC with Julian Parry and Holly Scott of Hollingsworth Lake SC in third.

Paul Truswell strode back into parliament for an unprecedented second term as Labour MP for Pudsey.
Mr Truswell rode the wave of Labour success with 21,717 votes compared to the 16,091 of his nearest rival, Tory candidate John Procter.
Mr Truswell's majority had shrunk from 6,207 in 1997 to 5,626 last night but the new MP said this could have been the result of the low turnout of 63.5 per cent in the constituency.

The schools serving Mr Truswell's constituency with amounts are: Horsforth St Margaret's CC of E Primary School (£35,018), Rawdon Littlemoor Primary (£49,508), Yeadon South View Infant (£339,359), Queensway Primary School, Guiseley (£86,911), and Pudsey Greenside Primary School ((£45,540).

After two good starts, ably administered by OD Robin Webb and Richard Peatfield, the 3rd start was a general recall, the competition now open and more fierce between 4 or 5 boats capable of winning the day.
The first Shustoke sailors were Peter Scott and daughter Holly followed by Andy Bownes and Helen Ross both of which gained quite a few places with good use of local knowledge for this pool.

A WEST Yorkshire MP is set to make a Commons demand for a bus industry shake-up he believes would be just the ticket for long-suffering passengers everywhere.
Paul Truswell, Labour MP for Pudsey, says changes are long overdue to rules that allow private sector operators to choose when and where they run their services and also set their own fares.
In the House of Commons tomorrow, Mr Truswell will introduce a Ten Minute Rule Bill that he hopes will help put public bodies like Metro, West Yorkshire's passenger transport executive, back in the driving seat.

But Labour's Paul Truswell achieved one of his party's best results in the country at the last election, a 19% increase in the Labour vote ending an unbroken period of Conservative domination which had lasted for three-quarters of a century.

Following on from William Warren and Robbie Sampson’s success at last year’s Glyn Charles pursuit race, 15 Merlin’s competed in this year’s event.
Dan Alsop and Jenny King sailed very well in the force 1-2 to come in 3rd, with Alan Warren/Liam Dempsey and Tom Stewart/Chris Downham vying for 5th and 6th, and Paul Davies/Jilly Blake coming in 8th.
Following an entertaining evening in the bar and making shapes to the disco (which the other 200 competitors decided not to join in with) there were a few sore heads on the Sunday morning.
