PaulTruswell strode back into parliament for an unprecedented second term as Labour MP for Pudsey.
Mr Truswell rode the wave of Labour success with 21,717 votes compared to the 16,091 of his nearest rival, Tory candidate John Procter.
Mr Truswell's majority had shrunk from 6,207 in 1997 to 5,626 last night but the new MP said this could have been the result of the low turnout of 63.5 per cent in the constituency.
PUDSEY MP PaulTruswell has welcomed news that five schools serving his constituency were to receive £250,000 of Government cash to replace outside toilets.
Mr Truswell began his lobby for the removal of outside toilets after visiting four of the schools.

Speed Tribe's "24 Heures Du Mans" audio serves as the soundtrack to visuals of the famous endurance car race which takes place in Le Mans, France each year.
The racing theme DVD visuals were put together by Mediakill(UK) from last year's race footage including interviews by racing commentator PaulTruswell.

Following on from William Warren and Robbie Sampson’s success at last year’s Glyn Charles pursuit race, 15 Merlin’s competed in this year’s event.
Dan Alsop and Jenny King sailed very well in the force 1-2 to come in 3rd, with Alan Warren/Liam Dempsey and Tom Stewart/Chris Downham vying for 5th and 6th, and Paul Davies/Jilly Blake coming in 8th.
Following an entertaining evening in the bar and making shapes to the disco (which the other 200 competitors decided not to join in with) there were a few sore heads on the Sunday morning.

Leeds MP, PaulTruswell (Pudsey) has agreed to lead the campaign in Westminster on behalf of the North of England Trading Standards Group and partner organisations including West Yorkshire Trading Standards Service.
An early day motion sponsored by PaulTruswell calling for legislation has, within the first two weeks, been signed by 55 MPs across all parties.
