Hotline On Call: Ron Paul, Wild Card
Paul is the indisputable no-name candidate on the crowded Republican side, but his anti-war, pro-gun, anti-abortion message has helped him to gain traction in the Granite State, where voters have historically gravitated to the renegade, the long shot.
Paul, 72, a gynecologist and great-grandfather, is lithe, with gray hair and a bulbous nose.
Ron Paul is certainly not a "no-name" candidate, as much as the Republican establishment and the mainstream media would like him to be.

Paul can tell people they don’t have to be anxious, and Paul can tell people to believe in the power of prayer because he has tested each of these truths in a life far more wracked with pain and suffering than most.

Paul was still very much Paul so the album has its share of incredible melodies but I can’t help but get the feeling that this album was rushed out because great as these melodies may be, there aren’t really enough of them to justify an entire album.
It’s also worth mentioning then that Wild Life has the same sort of laid back, down to earth feel of Paul’s first two albums so it is a perfect album to relax too.

In Driven Wild, Paul Sutter traces the intellectual and cultural roots of the modern wilderness movement from about 1910 through the 1930s, with tightly drawn portraits of four Wilderness Society founders - Aldo Leopold, Robert Sterling Yard, Benton MacKaye, and Bob Marshall.
Sutter demonstrates that the birth of the movement to protect wilderness areas reflected a growing belief among an important group of conservationists that the modern forces of capitalism, industrialism, urbanism, and mass consumer culture were gradually eroding not just the ecology of North America, but crucial American values as well.
