Paul Young - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Paul was born on January 17, 1956 in Luton, England, as the younger brother of Mark, and the elder brother of his sister Joanne.
Young's style, at the time, was a warm, approachable white soul, though he took playful criticism for his fashion decisions, which included chunky handknitted sweaters and leather suits with matching ties - not so chic, even in 1983.
Young's voice was affected by his vocal fold nodules and the subsequent operation, leading to a very different sound in his comeback single "I'm Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down".

 State v. Paul Young
SAUFLEY, J. [¶1] Paul Young appeals from the judgment of the Superior Court (Cumberland County, Fritzsche, J.) affirming the decision of the District Court (Portland, Lawrence, J.) denying Young's motion to dismiss three Class D charges pending against him.
Young's motion to dismiss was premised on an accord and satisfaction he had reached with the alleged victim of his crimes.
Young's contention that we must accept this appeal because the District Court violated his due process rights when it allowed the State to be heard on his motion is without merit.

Head coach of Portmore United, Paul Young, says that Jamaica's players and coaches are far behind their English counterparts with regard to professionalism and expertise.
Young, 37, who guided Portmore to the National Premier League (NPL) title last season and more recently the Caribbean Club Championship, told Sporting World that this reality was driven home following a three-week coaching stint at English Championship side Preston North End (PNE) last month.
And from a coach's position, he said he was amazed at how his colleagues at PNE paid close attention to details before a game, and Young noted that this is something that is missing even at Jamaica's national senior level.

The single that broke Young in the US was his cover of Hall and Oates' "Everytime You Go Away." There doesn't seem to be much variation between his version and the original, but given the fact that both are different variants of white soul, not surprising.
The haunting melodies and smooth vocals that made Paul Young the revolutionary that he was are all gathered into this soulful collection of his greatest hits- topped off with that (perhaps somewhat pesky) aforementioned timeless #1 hit.

community centers (centres) and community associations: : their history, theory, development and practice
The Centres may be a real training in self-government, a real opportunity for the development of those qualities upon which genuine self-direction depends, by every club or group being self-governed, and the whole Centre self-directed and self-controlled by means of delegates elected from each club meeting regularly in a Central Council.
The reality in the vast bulk of community and social centers (centres), was that citizen involvement was limited to the organization of clubs and center activities (a similar phenomenon had occurred in the early settlement initiatives.
Paul Marriot (1997) later explored the contribution of community buildings (community centres, village halls, church halls and other faith-based buildings) and was able to identify some 18,809 community buildings in England and Wales.

About Author Paul Young's Books - The Griffin In The Valley - The Sign of The Quatrefoil
Paul’s first novel is “The Griffin In The Valley,” published by Trafford Publishing, Canada, in 2004.
In it, Paul examines how most things, people and events comprise four distinct parts, which are drawn together in harmony or Universal Love to form a fifth quintessential result.
It is often the case that when we identify a set of four elements, steps, objects, feelings, ideas, states or beliefs, we find that either we are missing one of them in our lives, or else we have failed to join the pieces together coherently.

Following the sad demise of The Q Tips in September 1982, blue-eyed soul vocalist Paul Young signed a solo record deal with CBC/Columbia and released Iron Out The Rough Spots as his debut single.
Assembling a backing band (called The Royal Family) containing ex-Q Tips and song writing partner Ian Kewley (keyboards), Young recorded a cover of the Marvin Gaye song Wherever I Lay My Hat (That's My Home) which topped the UK charts in 1983, and was declared Single of the Week by the NME.

One of the most assured debut albums of the mid-1980s, and one of the finest pop-soul confections of all time, No Parlez was the record that, following on from the stellar success of Young's earliest hits, left him poised to dominate the remainder of the decade like no other vocalist could have.
Add the idiosyncratic yowling of the so-evocatively-named Fabulous Wealthy Tarts backing singers, jabbing a wealth of seemingly meaningless refrains, yelps and cackles into the gaps around Young's own vocal and, before it was even on the racks, it was clear that No Parlez was going to be an invigorating ride.
One cannot help, too, but wish that the regular single mixes of the hits had been replaced by the superlative 12-inch mixes that accompanied their original release - "Come Back And Stay", in particular, is up there with any Soft Cell or Frankie extension in the annals of classic 12-inchers.
