A mythology grew up that like her mother, Domino was a model and that, unlike her mother, she had turned her back on the glamour of the runway for a fringe existence.
A year earlier, Paulene Stone bought Domino and her sister, Sophie, a West Hollywood cottage on a tree-lined street a block from the Pacific Design Center.
Stone, her uncle, said she was considering suing several publications for describing her as a lesbian and was also considering suing one of the rehab facilities.

Her father, the star of such films as The Manchurian Candidate and Room at the Top, did not leave his second wife to be with Paulene Stone and Paulene's daughter Sophie (from a previous marriage of her own) until Domino was two, and then died of stomach cancer less than a year later.

EI > Reviews > Domino (2005)   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-18)
Born to "Manchurian Candidate" actor Laurence Harvey and supermodel Paulene Stone, Domino Harvey (Keira Knightley) lived a privileged, high society lifestyle that she was not comfortable with.
Seeking an outlet for her thirst for excitement, the tough, rebellious Domino found her true calling when she attended a recruitment seminar for aspiring bounty hunters (who knew they had such things?).
The fact that the real Domino Harvey died so close to the release of this movie is either the sickest case of irony or the most extreme publicity stunt since Stanley Kubrick's death just before the release of "Eyes Wide Shut" in 1999.

 Laurence Harvey - Biography
I met Larry in August 1970, in Chichester, England, where he was performing in the play "Arms and the Man." When we met backstage, I was introduced to Paulene Stone, his longtime mistress.
Later, I found out that my uncle and Paulene had a daughter, named Domino.
At Larry's funeral in London in early December 1973, I remember Paulene, a former top British fashion model, looking glamorous and aloof, exactly as portrayed by Jacqueline Bisset in the "Domino" movie.

Based loosely on life of Domino Harvey, daughter of British actor Laurence Harvey of The Manchurian Candidate fame and model Paulene Stone, it is a loud movie about a rebel who turns down offers from Hollywood and fashion ramps to become, of all things, a bounty hunter.

Domino Review by Jeremy C. Fox
There was a real Domino Harvey, the daughter of actor Laurence Harvey (the original Manchurian Candidate) and Vogue model Paulene Stone, and for a time she worked as a bounty hunter, but Tony Scott’s tacky, cheesy, derivative, over-the-top, surprisingly dull new film resembles her actual life only slightly more than it does mine.
Scott is a sensationalist, and his film is a music video for the rat-tat-tat percussion of automatic weapons firing and the timpani of massive explosions.
Satirizing reality TV is pretty pointless at a time when the genre itself has reached the point of total self-satire, and it makes particularly little sense coming from Scott.

The most appreciative audience for Tony Scott's "Domino" will be those who found Oliver Stone's "Natural Born Killers" too subtle.
A few early scenes contain fleeting bits of competent satire, and Scott may insist that the film is intended as a comment on our instant celebrity worship and our preoccupation with violence.
A model turned bounty hunter, "Domino" was the daughter of late British actor Laurence Harvey ("The Manchurian Candidate," "Room at the Top") and socially ambitious model Paulene Stone.

Domino Harvey, the privileged daughter of British actor Laurence Harvey (Raymond Shaw in "The Manchurian Candidate") and model Paulene Stone, died from a fentanyl overdose in June at the age of 35.
By all accounts, Domino led quite the life, seamlessly moving from the London fashion and club scene to the States, where, after trying her hand as a volunteer firefighter and ranch hand, she became a bounty hunter -- and, apparently, a drug addict.
See, as bad as things get, with bloodshed and eye candy galore, Domino Harvey will now go down in history as a very tough girl with a very good heart.

But the most shocking element of the biopic was not the highly stylized violence or visually dazzling cinematography; these things you would expect in a Tony Scott flick.
