Since the family Paulowniaceae is a deciduous tree, it must display secondary growth with the presence of a cork cambium.
In medicine, the Paulowniaceae is known to suppress dizziness and delirium related to typhoid fever and also in the treatment of bronchitis.
Due to its diversity and exotic origin, the Paulowniaceae is not known for being inexpensive.

Also known as Royal Paulownia this species in native to Asia and has become a pest invasive tree in the U.S. At least it's interesting to look at with large clumps of lavendar flowers in the spring and very large heart-shaped leaves in the summer.
Recent molecular evidence suggests this genus should be elevated to family status: Paulowniaceae.
