Pavel Datsyuk (Павел Дацюк, Pavel Dacjuk) (born July 20, 1978, in Sverdlovsk, USSR (now Yekaterinburg, Russia)) is a Russian-born professional ice hockey player.
Datsyuk was not considered an elite player because of his small size.
Expectations were high for Datsyuk's second season, particularly with the addition of another highly touted prospect to the team, Henrik Zetterberg.

Sure, Datsyuk has 27 points in 27 games, but CBJ already has Nik Zherdev, who is a similar player to Dats (in a way) but Zherdev is bigger, and a better goal scorer.
As far as comparisons between Datsyuk and other Wings players go, Datsyuk is two full years older than Fischer and 26 or 27 months older than Zetterberg, so obviously we're comparing players who are at markedly different positions on their career paths.
Datsyuk is a very nice forward, especially in a situation in Detroit where he can be played with other highly skilled guys.

Datsyuk had 50+ assists, and more then 25 goals, his line mate was the 40 goal scorer, Datsyuk is counted on for offense, not just scoring, he's more like Joe thorton the jaromir jagr.
Im not saying that datsyuk isnt a good player, or that in the future he wont pick it up in the offseason, but he will never be a federov, hes simply too small and too slow.
