Pawel then moved to New York and immediately began work with a variety of blues, fusion, funk and rock bands, including D-BOP, NUM, FIRST HOUSE, AF THE KING and many others.
In 1995 Pawel came back to live in Chicago for one year where he performed with guitarist RB Green and drummer Tony Dale as a member of their progressive rock band UEL.
In 2001 Pawel returns to Poland where he remains to be a very busy session musician, playing and recording with ODDZIAL ZAMKNIETY, LAPD, FUNK DE NITE and REDKOT.

Most musicians out there will think Pawel plays a tremendous bass line through the intro section, and he does, but it is nothing compared to the bass line of the verse section.
Even though a lot of Scorpion's fans will have no clue who Pawel is. Once you listen to the bass licks of the intro section to this track you will instantly become a fan.

This is a comeback to their old record company, BMG, (till 1978) with a very good album and with a new bassist for once more, since Ralph Rickerman has been replaced by Pawel Maciwoda.
At least the songs of Unbreakable can’t be compared to the songs of Pure Instinct and Eye II Eye.
In “Unbreakable” they prove that actually they are Unbreakable since they present fine compositions balancing in between fresh and the trademark sound of the band, whose songs are always deep in our memories.

While Ralph, in the last couple of years, is involved more in the film music side in his adopted home of Los Angeles, we still maintain a friendly and close relationship and wish him the very best of luck for his career.

Meine's vocals were still crisp after nearly 30 years in the business, and Maciwoda fit right in as he interacted with the audience.
Kottak and Jabs' solos primed the audience even more for the rest of the set.

With Unbreakable 2004 Klaus Meine, Rudolf Schenker and Matthias Jabs are going onto the musical offensive with a typical Scorpions coup: Pawel Maciwoda is the new bass player of Germany’s globally most successful rock act.
This new band member is another signal that there’s no going back for the Scorpions.
And the latest addition is Pawel Maciwoda, the power rock base-player who was born in Cracow in Poland, who joined the Scorpions in 2003.

His signature breathy and somewhat delicate voice is as good as it has ever been.
The rhythm section of James Kottack (drums) and Pawel Maciwoda (bass) is the Scorpions' best yet, with a strong sense of groove that the Rarebell/Buchholz tandem never seemed to achieve.
My one big complaint about 'Unbreakable' (and this goes for much of their 90's output, as well) is the lack of guitar presence throughout the record.

Although James Kottack has been around the band for many years, he and new bassist Pawel inject a sense of young dynamic fun.
Counterbalancing this nicely is the trio of Jabs, Meine and Schenker who delivered tried and true Scorpions songs and sounds.

Is this record a nostalgia trip in many respects?
The presence of new bass player Pawel Maciwoda does nothing to alter the basic harmonic flavor that's run through the Scorps' songwriting since the early 1980s and has survived the departure of such longtime members as Francis Buchholz (bass), Ralph Rieckermann (bass) and Hermann Rarebell (drums).
Unbreakable could have come out right after 1988's Savage Amusement and still been embraced by most fans.
