With three gold medals and world records in the snatch, clean and jerk, and total already in hand, Pawina Thongsuk took 145 kg on her third clean and jerk, minutes after she had broken the world record with a lift of 140 kg.
Olympic gold medalist Pawina Thongsuk stuck 105 on her first attempt and Svetlana Shimkova (Russia), who was expected to push for top honors in the snatch, took the same weight for her first attempt, too, but she missed it and then came back for a strong success.
But now that everyone else was done, Thongsuk went to work, and with a lot of support from the crowd, she snatched 110 kg with the smooth up and down movement of a piston.

If Pawina had participated in the 69kg, she could not have won over Liu Chunhong even with the 272.5kg.
And Pawina could finish no better than in second place… On the other hand, in the 75kg our project worked out well, because her 272.5kg was the best result and the gold medals went to Thailand.
