He was elected to the legislature from Pawnee County, in the fall of 1873, and again in the fall of 1874.
He was born in Woodford County, Ill., June 21, 1829, and lived in his native county until 1854, thence to Marshall County in the same State, and engaged in boating on the Illinois and Michigan Canal.
Elected Sheriff of Pawnee County in the fall of 1878 and served one term.
