The PAWNEE COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION was incorporated on November 23, 1988 by a group of Pawnee county citizens for the purpose of promoting PAWNEE COUNTY.
The purpose of the Pawnee County Economic Development Foundation is to assist and promote the growth and development of Pawnee County, and the economic and social welfare of all citizens of the county.
They are elected for three-year terms from three districts, which corresponds to the same three districts as the County Commissioners.

An application to allow the City of Mannford to acquire Pawnee County Rural Water District #2, Inc., received the blessing Tuesday of the Oklahoma Water Resources Board.
Pawnee County RWD#2, Inc., started operations in the mid-1970s and today serves approximately 185 customers in southeastern Pawnee County, in the west basin area north of Mannford, records reflect.

OKLAHOMA CITY (June 18, 2004) -- A state grant will help finance improvements to a Pawnee County road that is almost as heavily traveled as some nearby highways, Rep.
Ferguson, R-Cleveland, said a $150,000 community development block grant was awarded to Pawnee County by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.
The grant will be matched with $150,000 from a one-cent county sales tax funneled into the county road and bridge improvement fund.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 22-year-old Douglas Leroy Burrows suffered massive injuries and was pronounced dead at about 5:15 Tuesday evening after being flown to OU Medical Center.
Troopers say the driver of the vehicle Burrow was riding in was traveling at a high rate of speed on Oklahoma 15 when the vehicle ran off the road at about 1 PM.
