A member of the Grand Ole Opry, PayCheck is best remembered for his 1977 hit song, "Take This Job And Shove It" (originally written by David Allan Coe) which sold over 2 million copies and inspired a motion picture of the same name.
His life was often filled with turmoil and in 1985, PayCheck was convicted of shooting a man in Hillsboro, Ohio and spent two years in prison.
PayCheck suffered from drug and alcohol addiction during his career, although he was said to have "put his life in order" [1] after his prison stay.

Paycheck: (John Powell) The concept and execution of Paycheck is consistent with both the stories of author Philip K. Dick and the directing of John Woo.
The concept of Paycheck is closer to the thrilling futuristic aspects of Minority Report than anything else, with Ben Affleck playing a brilliant scientist who does secretive work for large corporations with the understanding that upon being paid, his memory of the project would be erased.
As for Paycheck specifically, the score's lack of dominating thematic development is easily countered by such vibrant action cues as "Hog Chase Part 2," which alone elevates this score beyond the usual level of unsophisticated music you often hear in John Woo films.

from Queens, NY "Paycheck" is yet another adaptation of a Philip Dick short story that tones down his political criticism and cynicism to make a sci fi adventure flick, this time pretty much as an expensive and clever "McGyver" episode.
You can tell how this is expanded from a story where the hero had five items/clues and now he has 20.
While I did see the movie on a scratchy print with tinny sound, I don't think that explained the confusingly bad continuity in the hair and make-up such that I thought they had been time-traveling at some tropical vacation in between scenes.
