Payette County is a county located in the state of Idaho.
In the county the population is spread out with 30.60% under the age of 18, 7.90% from 18 to 24, 26.60% from 25 to 44, 21.70% from 45 to 64, and 13.20% who are 65 years of age or older.
The median income for a household in the county is $33,046, and the median income for a family is $37,430.

Named for the Payette River which was named for Francois Payette, a Canadian fur trapper and explorer with the North West Company, who came to this county in 1818.
Boomerang, which was named for the log boom on the Payette river, was constructed as a railroad camp in 1883 and later changed its name to Payette.

During 1954–55, in addition to her normal operations, she was involved in innovative exercises such as LST-helicopter operations, and the use of an LST as a rocket launching platform.
On 1 July 1955 she was named Payette County (LST–1079) and operated with a civil service crew until 1 November 1959 when she was placed out of service and struck from the Naval Vessel Register.
She was sold 18 May 1961 to Zidell Explorations, Inc., Astoria, Oregon.
