His very first musical experience was a rock band (he was 15 years old then) and a four year study of drums in the music school.

The band PAZUZU was founded just under a decade ago, at the advent of the Black Metal rise in Europe, by members of Summoning, at that time still a demo band.
By using solely synthesizers, samplers and effects, PAZUZU strived to create music that was both dark and at the same time bombastic and atmospheric.
The band had signed a 3 record deal with Milan based Avantgarde Music and was ready to start from scratch...

There are some great bands that have come from this resurrgence (AURA NOIR and NOCTURNAL BREED come to mind.) Not to mention, I'm not old enough to say I was there for the "classic years" (85, 86) so I'm kind of enjoying parts of it.
I know that his former band PAZUZU is well-known and respected in American underground, however I know nothing of them...
So far as the reason for other bands not playing live, I think alot of it would be the fact that they would not be able to duplicate there studio work well in the live arena.

Pazuzu "Awaken the Dragon": This is the second release from this Medieval/Folk band.
Pazuzu is now just a one-man band, but still after the very good debut album now we have a great release.
The positive side of this band is that they are not the usual fl metal band with shitty trebly guitars and boring repetitive blast beats.

Pazuzu is originally the name for a ancient Sumerian ruthless demon, but this band under the same monicker, was formed in 1994 by a few members of the little more famous Summoning.
After their debut demo, they did their CD debut with "And All Was Silent" in 1995, an album that personally I rate among the worst albums in the history of music.
Anyway, the band changed a little direction with their more symphonic "Awaken the Dragon" in 1996, showing better signs, before it took them a while to get their third and most complete album "The End of Ages" out via Avantgarde Music just before the new millenium started.

 PAZUZU BIOGRAPHY
PAZUZU, an ancient Sumerian Demon, worshipped thousands of years before the birth of monotheistic religions, was dreaded for his appearance and ruthlessness.
Following the relative success of this CD, the band decided to lay to rest this project and focus more on other things, until 1996, when Ray Wells signed to Dark Matter Records in Austria and entered their studio to record the second full length " Awaken the Dragon ".
PAZUZU now focused more heavily on melodies and structure, rather than on effects and ambience.

The musical experience of Silenius was a doom metal band "Shadow vale"(at 16 years old) and few years in music school studying piano.
Silenius made songs for the next Pazuzu album, but they were not included in it, and continued his work in Abigor, ('97 release "Apocalypse" and '98 "Supreme Immortal Art").

By 2000 the band had become a quintet and it was then decided to change the bandname to AVANITAS, in order to avoid confusion with Austria's PAZUZU.
As always, it's hard to judge a band that you're totally unfamiliar with on the evidence of just two songs, but as far as I'm concerned AVANITAS are an ordinary heavy metal outfit, even though they claim to be power metal themselves.
The end result is not bad at all, but in future I'd like to see the band come up with more variety from one song to another (perhaps a couple faster ones?) and in stead of using all kinds of different vocal approaches I wish they would settle on one particular vocal style.

In the meantime the band grew up to a five men formation with the intention to follow the wayward path they chose in 1992.

Pazuzu, named after an ancient Sumerian demon, is an Austrian band decidedly atypical in the world of fl metal.
With the help of traditional instruments (harpsichord, tambourines), noises (swords clashing in barbaric, merciless and bloody battles) and Gregorian chant samples, Pazuzu give a very subtle soundtrack to the Apocalypse, sung alternatively in English, German and French, occasionally disturbed by electronic interludes (Weeping Willow).

Whether they are distracted by more artistic endeavors, extracurricular and/or recreational activities, or this is all part of some darker global conspiracy, I honestly can't say, but the fact remains that, at times, not everyone involved is absolutely certain where the goods are, other than hoping that they're in a safe place.
