		Pe is the seventeenth letter in many Semitic abjads, including Phoenician, Aramaic, Hebrew פ‎ and Arabic alphabet fāʼ ﻑ‎ (in abjadi order).
		The Phoenician letter gave rise to the Greek Pi (Π), Latin P, and Cyrillic Pe.
		Pe is usually assumed to come from a pictogram of a mouth (in Hebrew pe; in Arabic, fem).

		I do not believe there is a way to set which letter PE will use, but you could write a script and include it in your run once that will run diskpart and configure the D drive after the OS has been installed.
		The drive letters set by WinPE are temporary, so you can assign your partition the E: drive letter and once you reboot to your normal Windows it'll reassign this partition the D: drive letter.
		PE does take the first avaiable drive letter for assignment! However, when it comes down to your issue with diskpart of the D: drive, you just add /noerr switch (i think) to your diskpart script.

		It assignes the letter I to PE and it also assines this to my DVD so when you click on the DVD drive in 2xExplorer, it shows the PE directories.
		And of course, pe is running from the cd and so that's why it's showing the pe directories.
