Eurythmics : Peace - Listen, Review and Buy at ARTISTdirect
True, Eurythmics were moving toward the melodramatic grandeur of Diva on their final '80s album, We Too Are One, yet they still had an innate sense of quirkiness and a desire to take risks.
Peace keeps its alluring mood throughout; even when they attempt to revisit their Stones-y tendencies, the songs play as sleekly and smoothly as the ballads that dominate the record.
In one sense, that's good, because it means that Peace keeps a consistent tone from front to back, but it also means that most of the songs blend together.

Eurythmics: Peace. More guest reviews - Eurythmistan   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-03)
"Peace," their first album of original music in over 10 years, is not so much a radical new invention of themselves, as it is a reminder of what fantastic songwriters and performers they both truly are.
The album's opener, "17 Again," is an ironic and bitter-tinged ditty in which that greatest of Lennox's gifts--her voice--assaults you over the head.
"Peace" of course is a collaborative effort, and though the less-visible of the duo, Dave Stewart's arrangements and guitar nonetheless compliment Lennox's voice beautifully.

Peace, Eurythmics's first studio album in a decade, finds Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart proving the durability of their musical bond.
No, this album is not likely to rip your ears off after the first listen like their early work, but this is an aged, mature band that is not out to rape the pop charts, but rather to deliver an honest set of music from the heart.
This is the last album released by Eurythmics, which means that there hasn't been any new material from the band in the last five years, going on six years.

The album included such hits as "Thief", a song centered around a young girl the band met who had cancer, as well as "One Man Army" and "Is Anybody Home?".
There are two new songs on the album, "Kiss On The Mouth" and "Better Than Here"; Steve Mazur wrote in a blog on the band's fan club that the new songs on the disc are two unreleased songs from the Healthy in Paranoid Times sessions.

Peace (album) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Peace is the ninth album by Eurythmics, released in 1999 (see 1999 in music).
Peace was a more acoustic and quieter album than their last studio project almost ten years prior (We Too Are One).
Released in October 1999, the album was largely seen as part of the 80's revival (Blondie, Culture Club and Madness had also released new records around this time) and made the top ten in the UK.

 Master Peace........Album Review - JAMAICAOBSERVER.COM
Master Peace, with more than a hint of R&B, rap and reggae flavour all in one, surprisingly tells of God's character, and the work God has done in ZeelaMac's own life, as well as the lives of others around her.
But according to ZeelaMac, Master Peace isn't intended to confuse people about gospel music but to minister to the today's teens, who are more drawn to this type of music than the traditional gospel sound, which she adds, received as much criticism at its introduction, as reggae gospel artists are currently receiving.
The album consists of 14 prime tracks, each of which was inspired by a particular scripture, some of which are already in rotation on local airwaves.

CD Baby: PEACE WARRIORS: Peace Warriors- The Album
The Peace Warriors CD captures daily life in urban war zones as young talented artists from Watts raised in the midst of gang violence rap and sing about real issues.
While the album is full of message lyrics, the club rocking “Bank Roll” is a straight party cut that will have listeners bouncing in their cars and at the hottest nightspots.
These young peace warriors want to remind people that the greatest heroes are champions of peace not perpetrators of violence, that peace is not a refuge of the soft and weak but a noble ideal both positive and powerful,” said Aqeela Sherrills, co-founder of Watts Records.

Paul McCartney : Pipes of Peace - Listen, Review and Buy at ARTISTdirect
Although it's rather fascinating that the album didn't reach the Top Ten, despite a blockbuster duet with Michael Jackson in "Say Say Say," Pipes of Peace bewilders in other ways, particularly in its allusions to Tug of War.
Instead of dabbling in all his myriad musical personas, McCartney settles back into a soft rock groove, tempered somewhat by a desire to be contemporary (which means a heavy reliance on drum machines and synthesizers).
In particular, the first side is close to irresistible, with the title track being a mid-tempo mini-epic, "Say Say Say" being fine pop-funk, "So Bad" being so sickly sweet that it's alluring, "The Man" being an effervescent Jackson duet, and "The Other Me" scoring with its square dance beats and winning McCartney vocal.

Well, imagine if your first album (that's Naveed) sold nearly a million copies in your home country (that's Canada), the press described your group as the second coming and fans bordered on fanatical wherever you played live.
That was Our Lady Peace's dilemma by the time their 1997 effort, Clumsy, hit the shelves.
The release in the end did not reach the same level of intensity for most critics who provided a "been there, done that" sort of defense.
