		A British peace activist going only by the name Alice cries for help as she holds her hand over the headwound of British peace activist Thomas Hurndall, who had been shot in the head moments earlier, at the start of a protest, in Rafah, southern Gaza Strip (news - web sites), Friday, April 11, 2003.
		The activist was standing in between IDF troops and a group of Palestinian children when soldiers opened fire, said Khalil Abdullah who works with the Palestinian-backed peace group.
		Activists in the group work in the West Bank and Gaza as human shields, often placing themselves between the Palestinians and the Israelis.

	Peace activist challenges Coast Guard fine
		With family and friends filling one side of the federal hearing room, Seattle peace activist Glen Milner argued Tuesday that he didn't take his boat within 500 yards of a U.S. Navy vessel during protests in the 2004 Seafair and doesn't deserve a large fine.
		Milner said he had warned Coast Guard officials that he would be protesting the Navy's presence and that he had no intention of breaking the law by getting too close to the warships.
